That’s exactly what happened to one of our customers not long ago. It was a chilly Monday morning, and she was already running late. One twist of the shower knob and suddenly, her day went from hectic to downright miserable. No hot water. No time. No idea what went wrong.

Instead of panicking or calling around for a plumber who might be available “sometime next week,” she gave us a call. I was able to reassure her right away, get her scheduled, and dispatch a technician quickly. It felt good knowing we could take something so stressful and turn it into a simple fix for her. Our technician got her water heater back in working order in no time – all covered as part of the program.

Here’s how it works:

If you need a new water heater:

1. Eligibility Check – First, we confirm that your location is eligible.
2. Installation – We’ll install a high-efficiency electric storage tank water heater, along with a load management device.
3. Load Management Device – This small box connects between your breaker box and the water heater. It helps us manage when your water heater uses electricity – especially during peak times. By working together, we can help keep electric rates lower for everyone.
4. Smart Storage – The water heaters we install are designed to store hot water efficiently so that even when we temporarily cycle the heater off, you still have hot water when you need it.

Our standard water heater is 75" tall and 24" wide.

And, we offer 24-month financing so you can make easy payments right on your BTES bill.

Already have a working water heater? You can still benefit!

If your water heater is running fine, you can still join the program and enjoy the benefits. We’ll install a load management device and provide the Water Heater Maintenance Program’s benefits:

• FREE service calls
• FREE maintenance on elements and thermostats (as long as parts are available)

We set our water heater temperatures at 135°F, which helps reduce the risk of running out of hot water and protects against bacteria like Legionella. Legionella bacteria thrive in water temperatures between 68°F and 122°F. By setting our water heaters at 135°F, we help eliminate the conditions where these bacteria can grow, offering you added peace of mind when it comes to your family’s health and safety.
