HOW TO REGISTER FOR BTES ENGAGE

Mobile App

  • Go to your device's app store.
  • Search for "BTES Engage" and look for the BTES Engage logo. Follow the instructions to install the app on your mobile device.
  • One the app installs, tap the BTES Engage app on your device to open it.
  • Click "Don't have an account? Register now."
  • Fill out the registration form completely and tap continue.
  • On the security check screen, answer the security questions and then tap the register button.
  • You will receive a notification telling you that a verification email has been sent.
  • Open the email and tap the Verify Account link to continue.
  • Set up your password and tap save.
  • Return to the login screen on the app and use your email address and password to login.
  • During the first log in, you may be asked to accept our Terms and Conditions. Tap the accept button.

Web Portal (desktop computer)

  • From www.btes.net, click on Login To Your Account.
  • Click on "Don't have an account? Register Now."
  • Fill out the registration form completely and tap continue.
  • On the security check screen, answer the security questions and then tap the register button.
  • You will receive a notification telling you that a verification email has been sent.
  • Open the email and tap the Verify Account link to continue.
  • Set up your password and tap save.
  • You may be asked if you want to try Paperless Billing. To opt-in, click Yes, Go Paperless. 
  • Finally, you will be asked to set a security phrase. This is set up one time and will show at the top of the payment screen so you know you are on a secure BTES payment site. (Side note - this is not a password.) 
  • Where can I find my account number?
    Your BTES account number stayed the same through the transition. You can find your account number on your BTES bill or you can contact us at 423-968-1526.
  • How do I set up text message and email notifications?
    Login to your BTES Engage account. Click on "Settings" Click on "Notifications" Click Contact Methods to add or change your email address and phone number Enter verfication code to activate Click on Manage Notifications to set up text message and email alerts.
  • What is the difference between the BTES Engage mobile app and customer portal?
    Both platforms are part of our online account management system for customers. Both the web version and mobile app allow you to securely access account information, change your personal information, manage notifications, update stored payment methods, view bills and payment history, make payments, and report issues. The free, secure mobile app is available to download and install on mobile devices and tablets.
  • Do I need to sign up for both the BTES Engage mobile app and BTES Engage customer portal?
    No. Once you are signed up on one, you can access both platforms. Both the web version and mobile app allow you to securely access account information, change your personal information, manage notifications, update stored payment methods, view bills and payment history, make payments, and report issues. The free, secure mobile app is available to download and install on mobile devices and tablets and the web version can be accessed via any Internet browser.
  • Do I have to use BTES Engage to pay my bill?
    No. You can take advantage of all the BTES Engage features and pay your bill as you choose. We offer many payment options!
  • What is Two-Factor Authentication and why should I add it to my BTES Engage Account?
    Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security that requires not just a password, but also a second form of verification—like a code sent to your phone or email. This extra step ensures that only you can access your account, even if your password is compromised. Why Enable Two-Factor Authentication? How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication on SmartHub Log In to SmartHub: Open the app or visit the website and sign in to your account. Go to Settings: Navigate to the Settings menu. Select Two-Factor Authentication: Locate the security settings and click “Two-Factor Authentication.” Enable 2FA: Follow the on-screen instructions to enable and set up your preferred verification method, such as receiving a text message or email code.
