Update (11:30am): We have just been notified by TVA that the necessity for rolling power interruptions will end at this time. We will remain in regular communication with TVA to determine if future action is necessary. As extreme weather conditions continue, we ask for the public to join us in continuing to reduce energy usage for the time being.
ORIGINAL POST: TVA just requested that BTES and all other local power companies across the Tennessee Valley conduct rolling power interruptions to quickly reduce the electric load on their system. We are conducting the rolling interruptions in approximately 15-20-minute increments across our service area. We understand that this extraordinary situation will temporarily impact power to homes and businesses, but these are unprecedented conditions. Please conserve energy in any way you can.
