TV Production Specialist

This position requires the employee to reside in the BTES service area.

Education

A bachelor’s degree is preferred but at least an associate’s degree is required. Coursework in video production, graphics or similar is preferred.

Experience

Prior work in photography and videography. This experience should include camera operation, filming, editing, graphics, font, lighting, audio, marketing, sales, script writing, etc.  Should also have experience in live broadcast events of sporting events and studio programs. 

Job Knowledge

Should have fundamental knowledge of TV and event production including producing, directing, camera operation, filming, editing, graphics, font, lighting, audio, marketing, sales, script writing, etc.  Should have general knowledge of TV production standards and requirements, Federal Communications Commission, National Association of Broadcasters, etc. Knowledge of computer system operations required. Must be able to solve equipment and production problems with minimal oversight.

Abilities & Skills

Facilitate production and operation of local origination television station. Serve in a leadership role in the organization for content, program, process and policy development. Should have knowledge of TV and audio production equipment including but not limited to cameras, switchers, editing systems, graphics systems, microphones, audio mixers and signal processing equipment, lighting controllers, and other related production equipment. Ability to develop and produce content. Ability to switch easily between different projects and flexibility to handle a rapidly changing environment for large volumes of data. Ability to work with both technology and business teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional work ethic, attention to detail, decision-making and organizational skills. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Capable of working all shifts, extended hours and meet unexpected work demands. Must have a valid driver's license and ability to obtain commercial driver’s license to drive and setup remote production truck. Perform administrative duties as required for production department.        

Should be skilled at dealing with the public in such matters as production/event setup and operation. Should be able to use tact and follow through in dealing with programming complaints. Must be skilled in searching for and implementing new ideas in production.

Working Conditions

Some work required in all kinds of weather and irregular hours. Subject to call at all times. Assists direction of TV, audio, video or other media production in studio and non-studio environments. Some overnight travel required. Available to attend night technical, professional, and civic events.
