POLE INSPECTIONS:
As part of our continued commitment to providing safe and reliable electric service, Osmose will be working on behalf of BTES to conduct utility pole inspections within the BTES Service Area. These inspections are essential to maintaining the integrity and safety of our facilities. In some cases, work may need to be performed in close proximity to homes or on private property.
During these inspections, light brush may be cleared from around the base of the pole to allow for proper inspection and treatment. Our crews and contractors are trained to conduct all work with minimal disruption to your property. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we complete this important maintenance. If you have any questions or concerns, or to verify the authenticity of anyone claiming to be a representative of BTES, call our main line at 423-968-1526.
UNDERGROUND CONDUCTOR REPLACEMENTS:
BTES has developed a plan to replace the underground 15 kV conductors in Middlebrook Subdivision and Peaceful Harbor Subdivision with improved conductors that will help increase the reliability of the electric service. During construction, there are not currently any planned outages.
The construction plan minimizes the impact to property by utilizing a directional boring contractor. Instead of opening a 48-inch-deep trench along the front of properties, directional boring will require periodic holes for vaults and connecting the conduit. Once this conduit has been installed, BTES crews will begin installing the new cable and making the necessary connections.
Although directional boring minimizes the impact, landscaping around BTES’ facilities may be impacted. Landscaping within the existing utility easement interfering with the safe, reliable operation of facilities will be removed and not replaced.
Thank you for your patience during this period while we work to improve the reliability of the services we provide.
